Day 25 - Rise of Olympus Origins - Slot Review

On day 25, I took on Rise of Olympus Origins by Play’n GO, which landed six years after the original Rise of Olympus. You spin a grid blessed by three brothers, Zeus, Poseidon and Hades, and each of them brings their own power into the game.

It’s a 5x5 grid cluster game with a 20,000x max multiplier potential, so the big win potential is way higher than in the original game.

Wins come from clusters of matching symbols that disappear and get replaced by new ones, so one spin can chain several wins in a row. Whenever you win with the lower paying symbols, the gods create a Wild out of the ashes, and once everything cascades into place that Wild can help you form new clusters.

The gods are the centrepiece. If 3 or more of their symbols land in a winning cluster, that god’s power can trigger, and the more of their symbols in the cluster, the better your chance, with 5 symbols guaranteeing it.

Hades turns every copy of one symbol into the next highest paying symbol, which can create clusters out of nothing.

Poseidon fills the grid with Wilds.

Zeus zaps two sets of symbols off the grid so new ones can drop in and start a fresh cascade.

If you win with the Relic symbols, that god’s next power gets upgraded, and you can follow it on the Power Indicator in the top corner.

There’s also the Wrath of Olympus. Every win with a mix of Zeus, Hades and Poseidon symbols adds the number of symbols involved to a charge meter, which resets once the round’s wins stop. If you charge it up enough before then, the Wrath is unleashed and all three god powers fire one after another.

The bonus is the Free Spins. If you clear the entire grid, either in the base game or during the Wrath re-spin, you get 10 free spins with all three god powers active. If you clear the grid again during the free spins, you win an Instant Prize chest, and that can happen up to three times.

Same as in the original game, you aim to clear the grid, trigger the free spins and chase the big multiplier. The free spin mode is a little different here with that extra chest layer, and I think it adds some fun and excitement.

During the session I triggered the free spins more than 15 times and opened the chest 6 times, so the hit rate is quite generous. The biggest chest reward was 75x, my biggest win of the session was 108x, and I closed the day with a small profit.

The twists they added compared to the original work well and give the game some extra spice. 1000 Spins APPROVED!
